Statement of Faith

We believe in one true God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We
believe that man is by nature a sinner, and therefore separated from God.   We believe that the
redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the cross and His bodily resurrection is the only means of
reconciliation to God and salvation to all who believe.   We believe in the bodily resurrection of all
mankind: the saved to eternal life in the presence of God and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting
punishment, separated from God.   We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired and inerrant word of
God, complete in the Old and New  Testaments.

Mission Statement

We commit ourselves to the home education of our children, accepting the responsibility of stewardship
to educate and train them to serve and glorify God.  As a fellowship of like-minded believers, we strive
to equip parents to teach.  We will support and encourage them through teamwork, communication of
news, training, and sharing of ideas and experience.

Luke 13:30, Matthew 25:24-30, Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Colossians 2:8, Psalm 78:71-72, Romans 12:10-13, I
Corinthians 10:31, Hebrews 10:25, Deuteronomy 6:7, I Samuel 30:24-25, I Thessalonians 5:11, Hebrews
12:1, Nehemiah 4:16, Philippians 2:1-5, Psalm 78:71-72, Acts 2:44 & 4:32-35

Code of Conduct

Many who are not involved in home education are keen observers of families who are involved.
Unfortunately, few of those watching us will ever learn to appreciate our achievements.  Fewer still will
have a chance to see our excellent methods by observing a class session.  Therefore, the evaluation
made by most of those who are closely watching homeschoolers will be based upon the only thing they do
see our children's behavior in public: including field trips, skate days, park days, and other activities.
This puts special responsibility on all of us, who, like it or not, are a perpetual advertisement for home
education.

What can we do to make sure our "public" makes an assessment of home education that is valid? When
we are on any type of outing, we need to remember that we are all responsible for the group's behavior
and safety.  Each adult is the guardian of all the children and should feel free to step in when another
adult can't or won't.  All of our families are different and each family functions under different "house
rules".  When we gather as a group for whatever   reason, we all must abide by the same "house rules".
The Code of Conduct for Tulare-Kings Christian Home Educators (TKCHE) outings will be:

We will glorify God in whatever we say, do, or think.  (I Corinthians 10:31-33, Colossians 3:17)  We will be
courteous and thankful to all.  Frequently, our zeal for the Lord and for homeschooling is misinterpreted
as self-righteous, exclusiveness, or down right rudeness.  We all must present our values, standards,
and purposes in a way that as palatable and uplifting to the hearer. (Romans 14:19, Ephesians 4:29)

We will respect all authorities.  (Romans 13:1-7, Hebrews 13:17)  Parents are to be responsible for their
own children at all times.  We should be aware that there is more than one person in authority at many
functions.  When at a TKCHE sponsored activity, any parent that is closest to a child may for safety or
testimony's sake, correct a child in a non-offensive, respectful manner, and expect that child to behave
appropriately.  If, as a parent, you are not seeing to it that your child is behaving, then you shouldn't be
upset if someone else sees to it.  If we remind our children about behavior that is expected prior to and
during the activity, then we can all expect everyone's behavior to be acceptable.  A word of warning to
the overly zealous you may not inflict your interpretation of strict adherence to The Code of Conduct.
We are working with children and   children are not to be provoked to wrath by an adult who id obsessed
with control. (Ephesians 6:4)

When a problem or dispute arises it will be dealt with scripturally, according to Matthew 18:15-20, and
before the sun goes down, Ephesians 4:26-27.

Everyone will respect other people's property.  We will not misuse anything, anywhere, anytime.  If you
or your child breaks something, you or your child will make restitution.  (Exodus 22:1-15)

Simply put. The Code of Conduct is:  Glorify God in all things, handle problems like Jesus would, and
respect authority and property.
